Mostly they were easier to make

With flat tops it is a bit different

    One advantage
Of course the carbon fibre types don't have that issue

I'm now have an acoustic GAS. I'm playing acoustic in a small church now. I already finished phase one of my pedal rig, and Im okay to go with it for a few years or until our first baby is born and all expenses get out of the way. I have something saved up on my birthday on the 26, so I'm looking at inexpensive, but decent (I know those doesnt go together), acoustic guitar.. I've looked at Sigma, Cort and Ibanez, hopefully I find the right one! Its been 10 years since I owned an acoustic. and I never really enjoyed playing one since its really a pain to play one, but my luthier friend told me he can do something to make it play easily and better!

Any suggestions? My budget is 300-400 OM/000/Grand Orchestra no cutaway. I also need to account the setup fee so I cant really get more than that.
