    So how are you defining hybrid amps?

    Just to clarify, the amp above is not really a hybrid, unless it uses two or more different types of things in the sound process--so normally a hybrid amp uses some tubes & some solid state
    And many amps you see out there with tubes in them are actually hybrids.

    And hybrids do clean much better in my ears than a straight tube amp.

    I love hybrids--they give you the best of both worlds...

    Well I'd have to be int he same room as one first--never seen one around here--and it is a new idea--so that could be a while.

    in the meantime I have my hybrid amp & digital amp that I mostly use & a couple other guitar amps--and tube & solid state for bass.

    but I still have chosen amps based on how I like the way they sound & work, and in some cases their size & wattage.
    & while I wanted a small amp that was either tube or hybrid--I normally wouldn't be concerned with that--if I like the amp--I like it.

    Well we do "hear" with our eyes & brains sometimes
    But if we just listened we might like it more

    Very true- I'm sure many guitars were bought because the looked cooler, not sounded better
