    The future of amps?

Just putting this out there for discussion...

    No interest?
I'd like to try one & see how they work for my playing.

Because they aren't old style tubes there will be those who will turn their noses up at them.
Some will post bad reviews online--or talk bad about them and others will not check it out for themselves & start a smear campaign.
Others will give them a fair shake
Of those some will like them & some will no.

Hopefully we are those who woudl give them a fair shake.

There are good tubes amps & bad tube amps
Good solid state amps & bad ones...

So why not good & bad of these as well.

Not really my kind thing, personally. If you try it I'd be curious to see what you think

Why wouldn't it be your thing?
I mean, maybe it won't, but some info on that would be more interesting.
Do you see a potential issue?
Did the video just not impress you?
Not all videos will...but sometimes the thing in that video will in person.

From what I understand the MV50 is another tube hybrid. It is neat that it is lightweight and small and overall isn't a bad idea, but I am positive I won't be running out to the store for one.

I wonder if they will catch on?

    Still why not?
What is it about it that turns you off?

I've never really been much of a fan of hybrids (or Vox amps for that matter)

    Ok--but to stimulate conversation/discussion--why?

For years, manufacturers have claimed that they have finally gotten "that tube sound" with modeling or hybrid amps, but most of the hybrids I have tried are not much better than just okay. I know guys here use them and get satisfactory results so awesome for them. I am not knocking them but we all have different preferences.

Quite honestly I do not see that a player like me is really in their target market anyway. I like a big clean tube sound, preferably over 30 watts- it would be very hard to convert me into a hybrid.
