How about some old Bessie Smith type stuff...

Pretty much the same genre as Louis Armstrong- 30's, 40's, standards

We thought about a children's program (whimsical)- in fact I have put the lists together twice only to take them apart again. I'd love to do this program but I need to find the market for it

That would be the key I guess--but whimsical one seems like a lot of fun to play--and it wouldn't necessarily have to be for kids--but for those old enough to remember the era, as well as the young at heart.

but you would know your local market much better than I would.

I would love to work up an arrangement of that song--just because it is odd--but not sure how it would fit in with anything else I do...

We did decide that we're going to make a run at Irish music in anticipation of St. Patrick's Day next year. I'd been avoiding putting together a set list for one day of the year but we already have one booking for this program and it isn't on St. Patrick's Day so maybe we can sell it for a few more dates?
