    Short Scale basses

Yes, I have one--and I've heard others mention them here as well--well here's video about them.

I've always been a fan too. I'd had long scales like the 4001 but much preferred the 30" scales of the Gibson EB2 and EB3 basses and the violin basses. When I first decided to build my first instrument, I assumed I was in completely uncharted territory building a 25.5" scale Tele bass. When I joined Talk Bass after it was done, I was surprised to see that there was a lot of interest in shorties - not just as a toy or novelty, but as a legitimate alternative to full-size basses. Seems to be a number of them based around the 22 -23 inch range.

I'm good with short scale & long scale--although I play more long scale these days as my fretless bass is a 34" scale

Still short scales can be fun--except when trying to find new strings locally.
