I've looked from time to time at an eBay seller, I think from Vietnam, who sells guitar components...bodies, and necks.....that have very intricate inlay work. I've suspected that he was probably buying cheapo necks and doing the cosmetic upgrades, but they look so nice that I've been tempted.

Let us know how this works our for you, FC. I'd kinda like to know the seller's eBay name so I could watch his future auctions.
this was another auction of his for a simalarly inlaid stratocaster,
He is not the maker, just someone unloading a bunch of different items.

I wouldn't call him the best ebayer,
as this auction ended a wee bit cheaper than He probably figured.

I shot an email to him inquiring the neck's story.

I agree on a blue natural stain on the body and headstock,
    You guys rock.

Someone got that cool guitar for $10 plus shipping?
    Wow.

Of course, to Canada, that's $110.
I bought a relic'd guitar because I liked the way it sounded. Then I refinished it because I didn't like the way it looked.

I wondered if the seller was making some money with the shipping pegged at 100.00.....and then realized that it would be coming from New Zealand. I think 100.00 from New Zealand is a bargain.......I've paid that much and more to get guitars and basses from the US.

I was impressed when I looked at the ad and realized that it really is inlaid work rather than applied graphics.

I may be stoned for a blasphemer, but it just doesn't sound right to me without Patrick Stewart's voice. And yes, I'm old enough that I remember the original series - and loved it. But Picard just has such gravitas in his voice.

I like both. This old footage with Shatner's voiceover made me feel like a kid again.

I also liked Nimoy's voiceover at the end of the 2009 movie.

    Note to dB -
Many years ago, I was playing in a wedding band and "Girl From Ipanema" was in the list. Whenever we got to the bridge, I always wanted to go into the Star Trek theme. It's kinda close, doncha think?

I think that is THE guitar to play Rush 2112 on.
I don't play guitar because I'm good at it, I play because it's fun!!

I wonder if that would be a crowd pleaser or if they'd start throwing fruit???

    Blasphemer (There you go)

I always thought saying "Where No Man has gone before" makes a lot more sense than saying "No One"
I understand the whole confusion that Man might mean males--but in that context it means humans.

And if it means "No One" how come they keep running into aliens?
If it's truly where no one has gone before, they should only encounter uninhabited space & planets.

So I let 2 really nice tele bodies go by on ebay, one was a 3lb ash, surf green.
one was an unfinished solid curly maple body.
but I think it might be a little more logical
to wait until the neck arrives before I get a body
