Yeah, a gluedown's what I had in mind, done with 3M Super77......wrapped at the perimeter and tight-cut to the edge of the pickup and control openings.

You'll notice that AllParts guard is 45.00. I have tonnage of old used Strat guards, and the fabric (big enough to do three units) cost 4.00......And, I get to choose the pattern and colour. This was just something I thought would be an economy project that could be done for fun in one day.

By the way, the one I posted the picture of was a fabric gluedown too. The builder says it's a good thing to clearcoat them. I might try one done both ways just to see what happens.

I have an interest in paisley, with the thought of a paisley body in the back of my mind. Ever since I saw the paisley Tele that Determined2Play built and posted on the 51 Modders forum. I've been thinking about it. I'm not sure whether his body is done with fabric.....I read elsewhere online that some builders use patterned wallpaper or do a gluedown with a paper scanned from a piece of fabric.

    Patterned wallpaper...

    The possibilities are endless.
I bought a relic'd guitar because I liked the way it sounded. Then I refinished it because I didn't like the way it looked.

Somehow paisley makes a Tele look good.

Well, I guess we're all on the same page, lol. Who'd a thunk a pink guitar could be so manly?

Somehow a pizza slice shaped guitar makes a guitarist look goofy.

But was that goofy look caused by the guitar?
