    Help with appraising

A friend of mine is going to be a sales consultant for a friend-of-a-friend's estate sale of about 100 stringed instruments.
    (Yeah, I know - a lot of friends…)
There's a pile of banjos, banjolins, mandolins flat and bowlback, autoharps, and a few dozen parlor guitars of various quality levels as well, none of it catalogued, some of it going back 75 years and more.

So my friend is wondering if anyone here might be interested in looking over some photos and helping him ID and value a lot of this stuff. He is definitely willing to pay a reasonable consulting fee, but if someone wanted money for this, it would have to be on the condition that they are disqualified from personally purchasing out of the collection...a fairly obvious ethics thing I think.

I will be offline this weekend, from early Friday evening until late Sunday evening, EST. If anyone wants to offer help and expertise, comment here and I will contact you when I return.
My Axetalk message inbox is always close to full, so please let's not use that.
I bought a relic'd guitar because I liked the way it sounded. Then I refinished it because I didn't like the way it looked.

I'd love to help but honestly I seriously doubt I am qualified to do so...

I know I'm not qualified--but I'd like to see the pictures.

And too bad about the friend of a friend.

Estate sales mean bad news for someone.

I'm certainly not qualified, but a super interesting thread. I'm sold on the comfort of parlors for practice. Sorry to hear of a collector's passing.
