    1977 Greco 900 Speedway

Have a guy wanting to trade a 1977 Greco 900 Speedway for two bass amps I have. Think that's a good trade.

I'm completely unfamiliar with the model so I tried to look it up. There appears to be a guitar and a bass with the 900 Speedway designation. Which one is it you're considering? The Greco name is seems to be well-spoken of when talking about older MIJ lawsuit-style instruments.

It's not a bass. I think the guy is backing out already.

That would depend on whether you want a Greco 900 Speedway & what amps you'd be giving up...
But if he backs out--it doesn't matter.

I have a Nemisis N-8 by Eden. 43 watt. And a Berhinger Ultrabass. 300 watt. Now he wants to trade me an Ibanez RG hardtail 6 string guitar for both.

The old Grecos were mostly made int eh same factories as the old Ibanez guitars.
The Speedway looks like the old Musician line.
Grecos though could have very different pickups than the Ibanez counterpart.

As for the amps--the Behringers don't do much for me & I am not familiar with the other.

I'd rather have the Speedway myself than the hardtail RG--more my thing.

But without more info hard to say if the trade would be worthwhile.

    Who originated the trade offer?

Ultimately, you're the guy that's got to live with your decision, so you have to make it. However, if you want an opinion: That Ibanez hardtail looks like a very average shredder, but there's nothing special about it to my eye. So if you're going to make a trade, my gut tells me the 900 Speedway looks like the better guitar.

What's going through my mind though is: Were you actively interested in selling those amps? If you trade them, do you have any thoughts on what you'd replace them with next time you actually want to play bass? I think, if it was me, I'd walk away from the deal unless you've really got the hots for another guitar.

I hope, whatever you decide, that it turns out good long-term for you.
