    Custom basses anyone?

I've seen alot of great custom guitars in here, just wondering if any of you build basses as well. I've got an idea of a bass I'd like to have built next year, $1000 budget, and I figured I'd check here first. Any takers, and pics of basses you've built?

SX Jazz copy with P pick up in middle position and Warmouth pickguard, Gotoh bridge, after market string tree. Sold it but planning to do an Xaviere P bass with a headstock reshaping.
If I need extended range, I whip out my six string.

Did you have to cut your own pickguard to fit the P in there? I didn't see a P pickguard for a J bass on their site. I'd very much like to get one of those for my Fernandes J bass, which after 14 years of ownership, I've finally decided to upgrade a bit lol.

I suggest that you do a extreme paint job on the bass. If you find a body I will paint it for you. You can check out my work at DaVinciCustomGuitars.com we Can Do Anything that you can dream up. So if your going to build go all out and personalize it for you. Make It An Original!!!!! Terry

The bass I've got in my head will be natural wood, but I may be interested in getting my J refinished. Probably nothing too fancy, but I'm sure we can come up with something cool on it. How much do you typically charge for a body? I know it'll depend on the amount of detail, but where do you start price-wise?
