Now I'm beginning to get it. I kept looking at that first picture trying to figure out what was up with the bridge. Now that I see it close up with the control plate I can see the engine-turned finish. It looks good.

What color are you going to paint it?

I might dye the body with a color but I'm not sure which one. I will be going at it with a torch to get the grain to stand out then maybe color it afterwards. I have some shaping & sanding to do next.

Natural could still work as well...

Today it finally stopped raining & I went at the body with files a razor & some sandpaper to contour the body. I wanted this one to be super comfortable to play so I went with Strat styled contour's & rounded the edges like a cuddly Strat body as well. It's sanded to 180 & have a couple more sanding sections to go but it's shaping up quite nicely.

I like how you did it just right. I honestly think that these contours just go on a Strat. period. I dont prefer my tele bodies having contours. but that looks nicely done and one that I wouldnt mind having! good job!

Thanks guys. I don't want to build clones of anything. That's why I make an effort to give my builds there own character. Plus the older I get the more I'm in need of a belly cut.

i like how you contoured it like a strat. Might be givin' me GAS for a Keletcaster...
I bought a relic'd guitar because I liked the way it sounded. Then I refinished it because I didn't like the way it looked.
