    NGD

Well, finally got rid of the Peavey T25 and did take a little beating but I just had no interest in playing it. I got a Chinese Schecter Solo 6. At first I though it was just going to be an LP shaped slab like my old Epi Special II. This thing has a carved top and Stratesque contours on the body, 24 frets and a contoured heel making it easy to access those extra frets (I rarely go that high). Pick ups are hotter than the Epi. Tune-O-Matic style bridge but the strings anchor through the body instead of on a tail piece. I now have a guitar with HB's to play with for songs where the Strats can't cut it and it cost me what it would to get an HB for a Strat.
If I need extended range, I whip out my six string.

This is just a mass produced Cor-Tek. Acquisitions are done. Saving for vacation and new car!

    Cool, enjoy.

(I'm a sucker for single cut aways that have a resemblance to Les Pauls...)

Very light weight, can't find a spec on it. Its a basswood body which is very light. To look at it, it appears to be higher quality than it really is. There's a pretty cool inlay at the 12th fret. It has the crunch I was looking for that the Strats were lacking on certain songs. I won't compare this to a real LP or anything of quality like Dirt's new Agile or anything else. It is what it is, a cheap guitar that I got just to have some fun with.

Congrats! I can't say enough good things about Schecters, I've got two. I contemplated trading my Stargazer in (as I'm sure some of you remember based on my post), but I decided against it because I don't want to lose it and not have it in my arsenal. You'll love that guitar, if you don't already!

EDIT: Did I just read correctly that it is NOT a Schecter?

Schecters, ESP, Squier and a lot of low end guitars are built by contract manufacturers like Samick and Cor-Tek. There is no Squier factory. Some company are actually just marketing firms with no factory at all, I'm pretty sure Washburn is one and possibly Epiphone. Gibson just orders guitars with Epiphone headstocks from a contract manufacturer.
