    The Log

Here's an article about the Log (& Les Paul) with some pictures of the Log being inspected--and some shots of his Klunkers as well.
Nothing groundbreaking if you've read about it before--but still a good read & some cool pictures...

I don't remember seeing a whammy bar on the Log.
I bought a relic'd guitar because I liked the way it sounded. Then I refinished it because I didn't like the way it looked.

I wonder why nobody ever reissued the log- or did they?

I think it would be expensive--and while it's a cool thing--is there a market for one?

On the other hand--this sort of is--just add the wings like Les Paul did...

Yeah exactly. All you'd need to do is add the 2 chambers to this (or a steinberger) and you have a log

Yeah but what I meant was if someone wanted to market a log-like convertible guitar, it wouldn't be all that difficult. One could design it so the chambers simply slot/ slide onto the main section. No bolts or brackets needed

True--but by expensive I was referring to if Gibson made a replica--it would be expensive--although they might make an Epi version--given that's where the neck came from & where it was built.

Actually I just meant a pure convertible guitar- turns from a backpacker to a jumbo archtop- that would be pretty awesome
