Depends on the store & the item though--haggle over a regular pick?
    That might get you banned.
Haggle over the price of a pricey guitar--at least to have some extras thrown in?
    Maybe.

but since normally the price listed on he item is the normal street price there isn't much room for haggling--unless you spot something on condition or price matching, etc.

But those days of it being the norm are long gone.

Plus I have bought stuff on sale that already had a great price when I compare it to what otehr stores (includign online) & private sellers are asking

If you run the risk of getting banned for haggling, you are pushing way too hard and probably being petty. I would never haggle over a pick- you save that for when you are buying the $1000+ item or something used, not something that costs $5.

Well I did purposely pick extreme examples--I have never heard of someone who would haggle on a pick.
Nor do I know anybody who would spend $10,000 on one guitar.

haggling is almost non existent as there is so little wiggle room.
The stores know how much stuff costs online.
ANd if a store has a price way above what's online or in other local stores--they aren't getting my business--I'll go to the other stores.

Actually if the picks are $5 in the store and $4 online, Sam Ash will price match. But it isn't really worth it for a buck.

Still Sam Ask definitely price matches, even for the lower priced stuff.

There are stores here that will as well--but sometimes you get exclusive models, discontinued models, etc and so price matching isn't a factor then.

And it is tricky on used gear.

Yeah used gear you can forget- although I've found there is almost always a little wiggle room in used gear pricing in stores.
