So how about the Travis Bean TB2000 Bass Prototype?
the koa body is lovely, and it has an aluminum neck.
    Interesting and looks cool.
And that neck certainly could be cool.

Ever play a guitar or bass with an aluminum neck?
I have--having played a couple of old Kramers with the aluminum neck.
At room temperature they are freezing.
And I have heard from many hat under the stage lights--the neck gets hot.
So that may be why they aren't currently being made and why you don't see them very often...

It is kind of neat- I'm not sure if the metal neck is an advantage or disadvantage. Are the necks adjustable?

    Not usually
If it was a bolt on you could shim it
But I believe many were set necks

So then I guess a metal neck would not flex at all based on string gauge...

That was one of the reasons
    The neck would be sturdy

    Aluminum isn't going to twist

Can you imagine that neck heating up on stage?

Well when I tried one it was quite cold at room temperature--so if you have lights onstage--yes it would heat upOr at an outdoor concert in the summer.

I know that feeling- when we play in the brass group doing caroling outside in winter that metal mouthpiece can be tough. And doing it at night is twice as bad.
