News for Tele Lovers-but probably expensive

Fender and Jimmy Page Announce Signature Telecaster Models

Not quite my cup of tea, but there are Tele fans here--so maybe they would be interested--at least if it isn't priced too high

I guess this might be interesting to someone who's a dyed-in-the-wool Led Zeppelin fan, but I can't imagine that one of these recreations will sound much like the original. After all, after the original's body was painted, it changed the character of the guitar so radically that Page chose to part the guitar out. The idea that Fender can build a credible recreation is tough to buy into.

Def not for me. If Iím buying a painted guitar, my next dream guitar is the jimi hendrix Monterey Strat.

Missed out on the Mexican run for 2017. Hope I can find one used here.

Certainly not for everybody--but I'm sure there are many who would love one...

To me all this signature stuff is just a sales gimmick. Do yourself a favor and build your own signature model. What do you get when you buy something like that? Once and a while someone says wow that looks like Johnny rotten's guitar. In my opinion who cares. I'm sure If you were some rich cork sniffer they would look impressive in a glass case to show off but guitars are made to be played. Everything from gently to thrashed like a dirt bike going over a jump. That stuff is beautiful Commercial art. Not for regular playing use as it apparently lowers the value when you breath on it wrong.

Of course it’s a gimmick, but sometimes it works
That doesn’t make it a bad thing in & of itself
But many times it is an overpriced item
Mostly suited to collectors who will display it or players in a tribute band-although they could do it for less money

Remember that not all signature models would be like that
Les Paul, Chet Atkins & the Ventures among others all lent their names to guitars that at one point were more decently & realistically priced

But those days are mostly behind us

Still I agree play your own guitar
    I have stock ones mostly
But play a modded Les Paul & Les Paul copy

I want referring to yesterdays signture models. Today's are a joke to me though.
