That's why the article in the thread on them mentioned not having roadies as a drawback to owning one of them.

When I was gigging with my HIWATT with the 412 cab. I used to cuss moving it around.

I brought my Ampeg v-4 on exactly one gig. Wonderful amp but it is way too loud unless you have the volume near 0

I do have a 15" speaker bass combo amp (Garnet stencil)
I don't like moving it--a big old tube amp.
Not the heaviest-it could be heavier given it's size-but not the lightest eitehr
Easier to move with a second person though.
So the bass amps I use no most of the time are much lighter...
No real bass amp GAS--unless I saw one of those Ampeg mini stacks for a low price...

My 1958 Ampeg New Yorker also has a 15" speaker and it is too heavy to bring on gigs. Incredibly cool amp however and I ply it at home quite often

Personally I think you would be better off if you were to Play it...

    So is it 2 ply? 1? 3?

So I just found out that Maton guitars are acoustic guitars handmade here in Melbourne Australia. I've heard three so far, and they all have that really nice booming sound. Its as expensive as Martins. I'm actually curious to try one in the stores. and or visit their factory which is 30mins by car from where I live.

I was just thinking today I should ask you if you've come across any Matons...
They have made some electrics as well...
