Thanks man. I am now ready to fret. I will do that next weekend. Once that is completed I will put a finish on the neck. I worked all day leveling and shaping and it's good to go. This is going to be cool.

Thanks bud. I had a friend who is into leather work make up this armrest for me. I just gave him a template and a basic idea what I was after and he nailed it big time! I was struggling with what to do with the slight under lap on the top. I didn't want to start bondoing it up. I came to the conclusion that no matter what I would do to fix it would look worst than the under lap. This was the perfect fix. I'm smiling when I look at it for sure.

Today I installed the new frets and put the 1st coat of Danish oil on. It seamed a lot easier to dress the sharp edges off the frets with that binding on. Just about time to head back to the boathouse to finish installing the neck. We are not to far from play time. This is where on a project it's time to pump the brakes a little and not sprint to finish. Just take my time like l have all along. I guess I should look at making a bone nut for it now.

How does one set the neck angle accurately?

You run a straight edge off the neck to the bridge. If you need more height on the bridge you strip sand off the heal of the neck. Even pulls per side until you hit that sweet spot.

Today was a very productive day l carved the bone nut minus the string slots I need to borrow my buddies 12 to 50 files. Plus l Made a rosewood top for the pickup and installed the Stewart McDonald golden age tuners. Won't be long now
