Thanks for the interest fellas. I was planning on working on it tonight but I painted a big machine today & I'm dog tired. I have to find a fretboard blank for it so the hunt is on for that. I'm going to work on it Saturday.

Went this on Sunday with a steamer to help out the sagging top.Braced & clamped it in place to sit for a while. She's a hurtin' old axe. Never gonna be perfect that's for sure. The patient isn't out of the woods yet. I haven't given up on the old gal yet either.

Oh man you are practically bringing it back from the dead- you going to put a sound post to keep the top stable long term?

I'm hoping it will hold on its own after it dries out. It took a long time in a bunch of bad situations to get like that. I tell ya it once we got that Birch warmed up it was like forming Pasta. Lol. I'm going to paint it. Not the best for tone but it will need a protective durible finish to get any life out of it.

You might want to throw a sound post in there anyway- reduces feedback!

Soundposts are a good idea--if you can swing it--so I would agree with dB's suggestion.

I had one put in on one of my archtops- I never noticed a tone difference
