We're not a drum forum, but...

I did enjoy this article of 5 drum innovations that never caught on.--and thought it might be fun to share & discuss--I mean we all know drummers right?

Know any who tried theses or commented on them?

Interesting. I've only seen one set of those oval-shelled drums....Two brothers here in town started a band when they were still in elementary school in the 60's and were our local music heroes. They always had the best of everything - The guitar player brother was the only kid in high school I knew in the 60's who had a new Bandmaster Reverb, a Strat, and an SG, and his drummer brother had a nice Ludwig kit, plus a new set of the oval-shelled drums with dual bass drums when they came out. I remember them being good sounding and louder than the Ludwigs.

    Those are interesting stuff!

I learned drums first before anything else. and right now, I have an opportunity to do a DUO project with a friend of mine. Think Black Keys, White Stripes, etc. just pure, raw dirty blues. but Gospel lyrics and meaning.

I'm actually excited on this project, Its been like 8 years since I touched a drum set.

Sounds cool--will you be sharing any results of it?

I think the article was right about why they didn't catch on--can imagine transporting those?
