Well let's wait & see how it turns out.
I don't know how much we'll be able to practice together.

It was kind of a default choice given it's four chords, nothing fancy & we have limited time to practice beforehand--so we can work on it separately easily enough & get together when we can.
And it's up the singer's alley.

Well we are sensible --to a degree I guess.
And a man's got to know his limitations...

It went quite well--it was well received.

To set some background--it was a talent show for an evening with our church--it was intended as a night of fun and fellowship.
It is not what we normally do--do it was fun to see what different people can do.

A couple of years ago some guys did a fake synchronized swimming spoof.
It was funny--but featured some shirtless guys who weren't models you wouldn't normally use to sell swimsuits (in swimsuits that covered more than enough...) and it is hard to unsee...
I was not part of that performance.

However we had trouble deciding on a song & for various reasons chose Gordon Lightfoot's Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.
I forget how it started but the singer changed the words to be about that Synchronized swimming sketch.
We didn't just go up & play the song--we copied the previous skit's opening & marched up front to the same music they had used, in bathrobes--as they had done--hen we took off the robes--and were fortunately dressed in shirts & shorts--much to the relief of most of the audience.
then we played the song--after a fake start with the singer singing a different song.

    i played my Mandobird.

It was a lot fun--and we were thinking which of the other acts we can spoof for the next show
