A Brief History of High–Output Pickups

They have had their heyday, and some still love them.
Some of the original ones aren't so high output now as they once were.

I do like some of them, and I like lower output pickups as well--so fortunately we have options.

    Here's the article...

Of the pickups mentioned I do have a JB in my Les paul copy & a Duncan Distortion in my Les Paul.
Basically the Duncan Distortion is a JB with a ceramic magnet.

Most of my guitars have Alnico though.

(Some interesting stuff in the comments as well)

High output pickups aren't for everybody--but I like having ones that are & ones that aren't.

Not a bad article, but since I don't really use humbuckers I don't have much to say about them

I like both--so I have both--and one that can be either...
