A "little bull" for your morning

No I didn't mean the other kind of bull§$%

Here is the little bull going at it last night- age 10 playing Ol' Man River on a 1920 Besson cornet then switching to a Flügelhorn

A little father and son duet; PRICELESS!
I don't play guitar because I'm good at it, I play because it's fun!!

dB, I love how you encourage him to play more than one instrument, and to look "outside of the box", as you said in another thread.
Love the Satchmo buzz at 48secs.

Your son is on his way to becoming a fine musician.
Or he might throw it all away for a career in engineering (like my son did, haha).

Actually I didn't encourage him to play more than one instrument- he is doing that by himself and I will tell you why.

If you know Dixieland, when Dixieland guys play you usually hear a chorus with the trumpet and then you hear a chorus with the clarinet or whatever. He obviously doesn't have anyone else to fall back on so the only way he can get different voicings is to switch instruments mid-song or use mutes. He does it on quite a few songs he does. And BTW Ol' Man River is his own arrangement- the lead sheet he has does not call for a style or tempo change- that is from him.

Of course hearing it on Youtube we hear all the little mistakes- hearing it live in a hall you don't have time to analyze.

Oh and he loves to growl the horn- watch the second video around 1.40. I love the fact that he is not a sterile clean player.

That was very good but you could have given us a better guitar face. Hey, just kidding at least not while playing rhythm guitar.

Actually, I was digging the twin "Twin Peaks" you and your boy have.
    Gotta love genetics.

VF is gonna be a monster player! He's already playing way beyond his years. Went to bed last night with a smile on my face, after receiving a pre-release copy.
Ya can't pick up a turd by the clean end
