The HM-2 I find is an acquired taste--and won't suit everybody's playing--even if you are playing hard rock/heavy metal or some variation of those.

I have tried them--and they just don't work for me, but I know others that can do some cool things with them.

So I won't bash them--but they are not my thing...

Another one on the List its the Boss PH-2 Super Phaser
This went beyond the PH-1 & PH-1R--those two were kind of stuck in the 70's
the Super Phaser had some cool extra stuff to be in the 70's and the 80s and other stuff.
But I still like the simplicity of the PH-1

Still you can pick up the PH-2 used quite reasonably...

They can sound dated at times
    But sometimes you want to

It was neat to fool around with. Those were the good old "I can't play very well so I will mask it with effects" days

Some effects help with that & some make them worse

I'm surprised how much of that market is or was owned by BOSS.

I kind of expected to see the Big Muff on that list too.

The Muffs were more 70s than 80s

I have more Boss than any other brand.
    (BF-1, DS-1, PH-1, DF-2, AW-3)
They make sturdy, dependable pedals and most don't come with boutique prices.
That will sell you a lot of pedals.
