I played some today--a lot on Saturday (& bass & mandolin)
And a bunch of bass on Sunday before having Thanksgiving dinner with the family

Well if I played guitar right now--even unplugged the sound could carry through the house & disturb others.

Sure--solidbody electrics played unplugged in a quiet house in the middle of the night carry well--especially if you are anywhere near a heat vent.

My house is 4 levels so it isn't very difficult to find a place that wouldn't disturb others

Well he house it was the worst in was 3 stories--but the heating system there was also a factor--I had a roommate who was in a 50s/eary 60's oldie band for a time--and they often practice downstairs.
I could go to the top floor and hear them clearly through the heat vents--as if it were a speaker system.

Yeah, although that is a heck of a lot louder than an LP unplugged!

Yes--but it was as if I was in the room with them--I enjoyed it--I got a free concert.

But my roommate could hear it more if I played an electric unplugged in the music room--via the air vents--than if I played it in the next room.

I always kept a guitar or two in my room when I lived there.
