Yea, I don't get it with the big lunch box craze that's going on why they make them so big. I may have to open it up to see what's up.
I don't play guitar because I'm good at it, I play because it's fun!!

It might just be for ventilation. You said it's tubes, eh? It's surprising how much heat can be generated if you're pushing it. It looks cool anyway.

At the moment, my bass head is a Fender Rumble 150......160 solid state watts, but absolutely puny looking (7"x13"x2.5"). Lots of power to drive two 15" JBL's, but looks very understated on the big steel roadbox. Maybe I should build a bigger cabinet to make it look brauny like your Panama.

Before I picked up the Rumble 150, I was using my 70 Twin Reverb head to drive the JBL K140's. The amp handled the job with ease (in spite of having a low-gain 12AY7 in V2), but running the volume at 4 meant that it got good and hot over a four hour rehearsal. If I'd been gigging it, I'd have taken a fan to blow it out. The big box around that Panama's probably a good thing.

It's powered by a hamster running in a wheel...

    Congrats on the new amp.
    Let's hear it!
I bought a relic'd guitar because I liked the way it sounded. Then I refinished it because I didn't like the way it looked.

I would say that you are no longer a bass player either, dB!

Admittedly, I'm not. I'd probably never sell that bass because it is literally worthless. Maybe one of these days I will have the thing done up right with new electronics and PU- although I would still never play it.

What kind of power tubes does that amp have, Stan?

The 4/8/16 ohm output is a bonus.
