Upcoming Gainesville FL punk rock benefit

On July 29, my main band, Crash Pad, will finally play again, for the first time after I had a tonsilectomy and neck surgery (Nov. 2010), followed by radiation and chemotherapy (Dec. 2010-Feb. 2011). I've played with all my side bands since then, but put off a show from Crash Pad until now, since I'm the lead vocalist and wanted to be sure I could do it.

Also playing will be No Idea Records recording artists Grabass Charlestons, whose guitarist, P.J., is a former member of Crash Pad! There will also be at least one more band, plus some comics! The show is a benefit for low-power community radio station WGOT, which is a project of the Civic Media Center here in Gainesville.

The show is at Loosey's, the venue formerly known as Market Street Pub.

Oh definitely. Our previous show was also done after a long layoff, and we pretty much pulled out all the stops for that one.

Yeah, our shows are all about having fun. That was a particularly good one. At the last second our regular drummer ended up in hospital and as it so happened the opening band's drummer was one of our ex-drummers. So he sat in on ZERO practice, and did a great job.
